Bites & brews

With four unique spots - two at the base and two up the maunga -each venue offers its own flavour, from quick grab-and-go options to relaxed spaces with stunning mountain views.

Winter weekends come alive with DJs and live music, creating the perfect ambiance. Head to Freddie's on Saturdays for full après vibes, open till 5:30pm.

Our venues are fully licensed, serving a selection of local and international brews, barista-crafted coffee, and hearty meals to keep you energised.

Please note: Our venues are not BYO, and packed lunches should be enjoyed in the designated picnic areas. Please support our on-mountain team and food outlets - and help us keep it tidy and fair by enjoying outside food in designated areas.

FAQs

Check out our most frequently asked questions

Are there vegan, vegetarian or gluten free options available?

Yes - all eateries offer vegetarian and vegan options. We do our best to provide gluten-free options too, but please note that we can't guarantee they're suitable for people with coeliac disease, due to potential cross-contact.

Can I bring a packed lunch?

You're welcome to bring a packed lunch, but we ask that you enjoy it in the designated picnic areas. Please help us care for the maunga by following the pack in, pack out rule and taking all rubbish back down with you.

Where can I refill my water bottle?

Water refill stations are available at Alpine, Snowflake, and The Giant eateries. Bring your bottle and stay hydrated on the hill.

What are the payment options at the cafés?

We accept all major credit cards and New Zealand debit cards. Please note that all our venues are cashless, so tap or swipe is the way to pay.

Is there parking available near the eateries?

Yes - both Alpine and Freddie's are just a short walk from the base car park, and both have great views over the beginner areas.

Designated accessible parking is also available. To ensure a spot, please contact us in advance at info@pureturoa.nz to reserve and display your mobility permit clearly on your windshield.

Are any of the eateries wheelchair accessible?

Yes - Alpine at the base area is wheelchair accessible. If you have specific access needs, feel free to get in touch before your visit - we're happy to help.
